Mission Debriefing If backwards is wrong then why did it feel SO right!!!! Trackday kicked serious ass, quite possibly the most fun, craziest, and worthwhile activity I have ever participated in... Seriously though!
Gotta give some serious thanks to Dani for all she did in getting us up there, from the lending of equipment to motivation to dealing with um... idiosyncrasies (yeah thats I can be a nightmare from time to time) So Dani, seriously, muchas MUCHAS gracias!!!! If it wern't for you I wouldn't have made this event.
Dave, thanks for the pointers, and setting up shop next to us, mid day I'm sure the canopy was looking might fine, I gotta admit you surprised the hell out of me when you came along side, in the second to last sessions, I thought I totally blew it and was out with A group (what checkered flag!!!) I look forward to more events, who knows my upper body might actually move next time!!!
Thanks to everyone else who came along (Steve, Eug Dave) it was a blast and a great group!
Okay thats all for now, gotta go wire a building in Sacto

| Great day lot of fun and lots of things to be learned. Thanks to the fellow riders who went and helped. Big thanks to Dani and all her help. Thanks to those who hooked it up with rides. Glad I went with the group it was a good choice I wouldn't have had as much fun I know that for a fact. |

definitely an awesome day.
thanks to the fellow riders who went along with me. made it a much less stressful day and a much funner day. big big thanks to dani for all the help, advice, and tools. and thanks to larry for towing and dropping off my bike.
very very tiring though. i was about to end the day after the session after lunch and skip out on the last 3 sessions. luckily i got my second wind, told myself to fuck it, and went out there.
gotta do this again... once i find more money of course _________________ David

I agree, an awesome fun day going backwards!!!
First...Thanks...this was a big 530 effort:
Larry: for the extra effort of getting gas and driving the boys home, etc.
Blaise/Dave for ramp and chock, Brian and Ann for their canyon dancers/tiedowns, DirtyD, B&D for their tech assistance and wheel assistance and stuff, Joe for the great body position clinic!!...all greatly appreciated!!!
AND>>>To all who attended for an outstanding first time out with really solid, crashless riding...Great job guys!! Dave, Brian Bacao, Philthy Phil, I, David, larry, Eugene, Matt, and Steve all came home in one piece.
Thill Backwards is so much fun. All I can say is that you guys better all be siging up with Dan to do this in September!!!! It rocks!!!
There were quite a few runoffs yesterday due to the super high speeds involved at thill, and the lack of true, defined racing lines and refernce points. The backward bus stop Turn 5 claimed most of the run offs, so they were just oooopsys and back on agains.
However, none of our C guys had any" Oh s#$@!!" moments...I am amazed at how well the guys did their first time out---many times riding w/o instructors, which as a first time out on a track, and a "new" one at that, is a great accomplishment in itself!!! MAtt is gonna be fast, and David was technically awesome, and Larry soaked up every bit of info.
PhilthyPhil had two run-offs, including a 300 yd dirt ride off of 8, but was riding as incredible and fast as ever. We had some great rounds in the middle of the day, and 4theriders.com/ Com3 Joe produced some great pics for us (to post up later).....Brian Bacao wasn't himself and had a runoff or two as well, but Dave was flawless and HAD to be one of the fastest guys yesterday for sure!!!. I had a BLAST riding with Phil and Brian, trading off leads, and had 0 issues either with the track or the day..
..couldn't have asked for a better day!!!
We went out for pizza after, fought off falling asleep at the wheel on the way back, and all made it home for some easy zzzzzs8-) -fin
The most amazing thing is that Dave is still out there today going forwards...crazy bastard!! _________________ 2007 Honda CBR 600RR- Blue

You guys sound like you're standing on the podium holding a can of Monster with all the thanks. The only thing missing is an "I'd like to thank god..." and a little malt liquor for the dead homies. _________________ - Brian |

as i was putting on my track suit today to ride back to the bay area, i found a piece of metal stamped with an angel in one of my pockets, probably from the last owner.
maybe thats why we didn't have any serious incidents. _________________ David

yes what a awesome day. the backwards thing was very akward at first but following dani for awhile always smoothes things out. not riding the sportbike for 2 months then doing a track day when getting back on it is awesome. Dani as gotten so much faster since are track day at infinieon in march. Dave is super fast as always. you think your going as fast as your bike can go then dave comes by passing an making it look effort less. so the tuff part of the day was the way home . I was so tired no radio no one to talk to. I think i drove for an hour asleep then awoke doing 80 in the grass field on 505 twice. What fun . an to end that great day i was invited to a bach party at the oaisis in sac were i rode the harley for an hour an a half there then another on the way back at 3am what an awesome day of motorcycling. _________________ sport bikes pissing off the system one cop at a time. |

I had a really great time too, despite being so sleep-deprived I only did three sessions. I figured out my current riding roadblock, so I'm happy, even if I don't really know what to do about it right now. Thanks for the trailerin' and such, Dani, and for not telling me about my dead tires... Dave, Blaise, Larry, Glenn... thanks for all the prep/loading help and advice. Matt, David, Steve, it was great riding and hanging out with you guys all day!
And Joe, you're still my hero. _________________ 2007 Blue/Silver CBR600RR

Seriously true!!! I have only come this close to falling asleep one other time in my life!! There's the "I think I'm falling asleep" thing, and then there's the "I am going to fall asleep no matter what I do" thing; That's the one that makes you end up in the grass. Scary!! So you ended up in the grass a total of 4x yesterday!!!!!! It was great to ride with you again Phil!!! You're hardcore!! _________________ 2007 Honda CBR 600RR- Blue

| Bah, I'm so mad I didn't go now. I ended up bombing the final I skipped to study for anyway, should have just gone and double bombed it instead. Thats it, from now on motorcycles > school. |

Redbull my friend, rebull! As far as all the thanks, you'd really have to crawl in my head for awhile (not recommended, a few spelunkers have been lost in similar such endeavors) there was a time a few years ago where a med issue brought into question if I'd live let alone walk, to be where I'm at now brings me more joy than one could really ask for! Without Dani, simply put I wouldn't have been there, without people like Dave and Blaise helping out lending equipment lending advice the journey would have been less fruitful and much more arduous, and of course having friends like Steve, David, Eugene, Matt, Phil (great to meet you man, you kick ass), Dave (Trogdor... the shark rider and Dani, to share the experience whats the point! Anywho probably much more info than needed, I'm just thankful for all the help etc, and I gotta give credit where credit is due... Karma and all.
