yea thanks for the info everyone. i already looked at the page. just wasn't sure if my naked sv was fit for the track without a belly pan. but good to know one isn't necessary and one less thing to worry about.
not sure where i heard it from. might've been just a marketing gimmick. _________________ David

but i remember reading that some tracks require a fairings/belly pan to catch spilled oils and/or fluids. does z2 require one? |
The fairing belly pan thing is a mandatory RACING bike prep thing for the most part. I gave a few new track riders a trackday magazine that covers everything you'll need to know. You can borrow it, no prob.
As of now, I'm not actually riding myself that weekend, but i might:
Either way
We can do a group bike prep day before we head out. And yes. the first day is BMW day, but my dentist will be an instructor that day and we can still drop off the bikes that day as planned.
Don't let the details worry you, as Blaise said, it's very simple and painless steps to get ready. _________________ 2007 Honda CBR 600RR- Blue

Tell her you're going to see your other gf, ha ha! Then you'll be freed up completely.
Or tell her that you are going up to the hills to see the Thunder!!! _________________ 2007 Honda CBR 600RR- Blue

This doesn't add anything useful to the discussion, but... I'm excited. _________________ 2007 Blue/Silver CBR600RR

I'm guilty of breaking this rule on occasion. Here's a picture of my "regulation" gloves that I would bring to tech:
Imagine picture of me riding in leather over the cuff gloves
And here's a picture of the gloves I normally ride in (which have only a hint of leather and don't go over the cuff):
Imagine another great photo taken by Ditto of my A-stars motocross style gloves.
Someday we may be able to post pictures on this site again, and then you won't have to use your imagination. _________________ I have a nasty adrenalin habit. |

If the Dani express fills up I can volunteer my truck for towing purposes, so if theres an extra trailer anywhere we are ready to rock, its a short bed with tool box so I don't think we'd have any luck putting bikes in the bed, down to try tho...) Otherwise... Well at minimum I'm riding up to take pics, if I can get my act together (finances) I'm hoping to be on the track, in which case,,, anyone have a trailer I can tow??? _________________ 05 Yamaha FZ1

Oh yeah, maybe it would be a good idea to have a couple pre track get togethers for maintenence purposes. I'm thinking, we could do the coolant changing and chain maintenece the weekend prior (give the watter wetter a chance to set in since I've heard it needs to do that... also get the chain ready to rock and all the fling off taken care before hitting the track, nothing like chain oil flinging off onto your rear tyre mid corner!!!)
The night before yank the mirrors, tape up glass, get the bikes on the trailer(s) that way the morning we leave is super chill, no last minute "oh shit"'s _________________ 05 Yamaha FZ1

It's much easier than people have represented it to you.
1) Water wetter doesn't need to "set in."
2) Chain oil doesn't fling oil onto your rear tire unless you pu a pint of 10w30 on it.
It's really very simple. When I prepped my street bike, I did it the night before. I flushed the cooling system, filled it with distilled water/water wetter and sprayed some more lube on the chain. I then taped my wheel weights, mirrors and tail light and I was good to go. _________________ Vik
