Looks like there's lots of spaces left in all three groups, since it's a Friday and all. "barf" coupon code gets you $15 off! I know prozac's signed up, and as of now I am too. Who else is going?
I'm excited for my first trackday experience. Maybe I'll learn how to not crash a motorcycle. _________________ 2007 Blue/Silver CBR600RR

Covered.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I think Zoom Zoom requires comprehensive health insurance for all riders, don't they? I seem to remember something about that from poking their site info last night in a sleepy haze. _________________ 2007 Blue/Silver CBR600RR

O.k. I got two more guys at the corners today to sign up for this day. I'll take the first 6 530ers up on my trailer for $10.00 bucks each.....so room for 2 more right now. If there's more than 6, I might make an extra trip if lunch is involved!!!
So for $160 with a barf code, plus $9.00 worth of track gas, plus $10.00 to haul you there= $180.00 total for an awesome day on the track you'll never forget, and a head start over others for Dan'D's backward day on 9/11.....how much more user friendly can it get folks!!!!!!!!!! _________________ 2007 Honda CBR 600RR- Blue

I take it riding to the trackday is not recommended? I raise my hand for a trailer spot! $10 is chump change for that kind of service, I feel... yay for Dani! _________________ 2007 Blue/Silver CBR600RR

If you don't have any way to get there, then definitely take Dani up on her offer. I'd steal a spot in her trailer for 10 bucks. Gas there and back in Blaise's Titan alone is about $50. But I am sure it'll fill with people that don't have any other way to get there.
And no, never ride to the track. For so many reasons. In no particular order: how do you get home if you crash? You don't want to have to track-prep your bike once you get there. You'll be sore from riding, and riding home in that condition sucks. You'll want to take more gear than you can haul on a bike.
And tons more, I am sure. So ride the Dani express. _________________ Dave, who has an amazon wish list

tried searching the site, but they didn't really give much info about prepping the bike besides covering lights and no antifreeze.
but i remember reading that some tracks require a fairings/belly pan to catch spilled oils and/or fluids. does z2 require one? _________________ David

Nah. Just replace your glycol coolant with Water Wetter or similar, tape your wheel weights, tape up any glass, disconnect headlight/taillight, tape/remove mirrors... etc. |

Dave already supplie the link to all you need to do for your bike.
I'm not aware of any tracks that require fairings/belly pan or even good tires, for that matter. That is all up to the discretion of the track day provider. The only one's I know of that require what you're talking about are full blown race organizations.
Getting your bike ready for the track is extremely simple. We gear our days around making it as painless as possible to get your personal bike on the track. If you have plastic headling covers, then there's no need to tape them up. If they are glass, then tape them up. The brakelight needs to be either covered or disconnected, mirrors need to be removed or covered and you need tires and brake pads that are in good shape. Wheel weights should be taped and you must have caps on your valve stems Then the final and most important piece: no glycol in the cooling system. Most people run distilled water/water wetter.
As for gear, it's also listed on the site, but here's a quick recap:
All riders must have the following:
- Undamaged full face helmet with visor
- 1 or 2 piece leather riding suit in excellent condition. We STRONGLY recommend that if 2-pieces it must zip the entire way around. We will accept Aerostich-style suits in the Novice School.
- Leather motorcycle gloves which must overlap arm of suit
- Sturdy motorcycle or similar boots. They must cover your ankle and preferably extend to mid-calf
- Back protector either built into suit or separate
- Each rider must have full, comprehensive personal medical insurance (not just ER)
Everything you need to know is here:
